1952 Series I
This beautiful Series I Land Rover was first registered on 2nd December 1952 as car number 36101805. An early model, this particular example has recently been through a thorough yet sympathetic restoration and comes supplied with a dark green canvas hood.
The 2L petrol engine is in great working order, and the previous owner recently fitted an ignition system meaning it fires up immediately. Covering just shy of 36,000 miles the exterior of the 80” classic has been refinished in a stunning Bronze Green. The panels however the panels retain their original dents to retain the historic aesthetics. The 16” wheels are sat within a slightly larger new set of Michelin 4x4 O/R tyres allowing it to cruise on the road at 60mph with ease. As a 7-seater, with three front seats and two rear benches, the Land Rover enthusiast will notice it retains its rare 1952 original door handles, something not often seen these days.
An original UK-delivered right-hand drive example, it was purchased from a friend of the business where it stood as part of a personal collection for over ten years and covered just over 100 miles in that time. Engine No. 36103831, the vehicle comes complete with an incredible ‘original vehicle registration book’ dating back to its very first owners in the 1950’s.
Restored with character it’s the ideal centrepiece for any collection, or a historic daily driver, this unique model oozes British heritage. Currently on show here at The Old Cinema, trailered delivery can be arranged at a small cost.
