What is TTD?
From late 2011, Land Rover fitted the widely-used Ford 2.2 TDCi engine in all Defender models. Twisted developed a package of performance upgrades that enhance this engine’s power, torque and all-round drivability. We call it the TTD.

TTD The standard 2.2 TDCi made better by Twisted.
TTD is what we call our upgraded TDCi 2.2. We take the 122hp of the standard TDCi and increase it to a useful 174hp with over 400nm of torque. Once converted with Twisted’s bespoke components, it’s more exciting, fluid and flexible. You can always overtake with confidence. The 2.2 TTD engine features a tailored ECU upgrade, performance air filter and our Twisted stainless steel exhaust system.
Suitable for town and country with ULEZ compliance
Another add-on feature is our Twisted Ultra-Low Emissions conversion for all post-2012 Land Rover Defender. This gives you full ULEZ compliance so you can freely explore the ULEZ area in London (and any other cities introducing similar schemes) on four wheels.
