As I’m sure you can imagine it’s another busy year planned for Team Twisted, beginning with the launch of the last of our publicly available Defender stock on January 29th, we are now well underway with preparation for 2019’s shows and events.
Geneva Motor Show
March will see us heading across the channel to Geneva Motor Show; the event itself runs from the 7th-17th March, with additional press days preceding the event. We will be taking both a Stage One V8 concept 110 & a Series II Black 90, which are both currently receiving their final touches in the workshop. This will be our first appearance at the GIMS so we are very excited to see what’s in store for us. This is one of the two largest European motor shows this year, and is said to have a few surprises in store from many of the world’s top motor manufacturers. Twisted will sit directly opposite Aston Martin Lagonda who will be previewing a production SUV, for the first time they will reveal more than just the vehicle’s front end. As our first event since announcing our plans to Remake History we are eager to showcase what’s in store for the vehicles which have been hidden away in storage for over three years.
Goodwood
Shortly after returning from Geneva we will be heading South, to Goodwood Members Meet, the weekend show on the 6th-7th April will be our first, of an intended, three visits to Goodwood this year. We’re planning our attendance at Festival of Speed in July and Revival in September.
Members Meet is said to recreate the atmosphere of the originals meetings held through the 1950s & 60s and hosts Goodwood’s biggest outdoor party on the Saturday evening with live music and fireworks.
Several months later, the Festival of Speed running from 4th- 7th July, is a four day event seen to be the largest of its kind, of which they claim 2019 ‘will be bigger and better than ever before’ with a host of the world’s best cars and bikes taking on the famous Hillclimb track.
Goodwood Revival wraps up the trio of West Sussex events. With the theme of Revival bringing back the 1940s- 60s, it is the perfect reception for our Remake History range. In attendance, we’ll have a number of our series vehicles which will be a first opportunity to see our idea to show a nod to the past. We’ll have a number of staff there who’ll be excited to update you on news from our North Yorkshire base.
Yorkshire 300
Following such success with our first Yorkshire 300 in 2018, we have planned a further two for 2019; the first of which will take place on the 18th – 21st May, with the second event following in the Autumn. This four day event has proven to be hugely popular and is a great way to bring a number of Twisted customers together as we love to show others how great our home county is!
Great Yorkshire Show
LR Motors will be attending the 161st Great Yorkshire Show this year, and similar to previous years, despite Twisted not having a stand ourselves we will be there to support our sister company displaying a prime collection of pre-loved Defenders.
Open Day
The annual Twisted Open Day will take place on Saturday 27th July this year, fingers crossed we are blessed with some of Yorkshire’s finest weather. We intend to have some of the first of our full and mid-build classic series available to view, alongside the usual music, food and family entertainment. Last year was our highest attendance yet, so we would really like to see as many faces, old and new, on the day to make it even more special than last year. So please, ensure you have this date noted in your diaries! Click this link to tell us of your attendance: https://www.facebook.com/events/1224866707666957/
Norway
Next on the list of road trips is to head to Norway; we are planning a 5 day trip nearer the end of the year; there is surely no better way to view the Northern Lights than from a Twisted Defender. There is still lots of planning to go into this customer only event, so we can’t reveal too much just yet, but do keep your eyes peeled to find out more.
We hope to see you at as many of the above events as possible!
